Statistics

Statistics on occupational and commuting accidents are recorded by the various accident insurance institutions. Their umbrella organisations (HVBG, BLBG and BUK) publish the statistics in their annual reports.

The Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour (BMWA) lists the figures from the accident insurance institutions' annual reports and the statistics provided by the "Gewerbeaufsichtsamt" labour inspectorates and the federal states' "Amt für Arbeitsschutz" offices (responsible for OSH matters), in its annual "Bericht zum Stand von Sicherheit und Gesundheit bei der Arbeit" (Report on the Current Level of Safety and Health at Work), formerly published under the title "Unfallverhütungsbericht" (Accident Prevention Report).
